Chad and Jessica

At Dianna Rae Jewelry, we enjoy sharing the love stories of our customers because your story is our story. Congratulations to Chad & Jessica, and thank you for sharing your love story with us.

How They Met

We met on the streets in Havana, Cuba, on December 30, 2016! I was traveling alone, and Chad was traveling with two film buddies. Us Americans stick out like a sore thumb, so his buddy called over for me to come to join them, and so I did. We had a blast together and hung out the entire time we were in Cuba, developing a friendship at first. Then several years later, the friendship developed into a relationship in November 2019. We fell in love, and the rest is history!

The Proposal

We got engaged on September 4, 2022, at The Gorge! We traveled to George, WA, for a DMB annual Labor Dave 3-day concert overlooking the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. We camped there for several days, and on the last night of the concert, Chad had the ring in his pocket, and during the opening song, we walked up front to the pit area (I had NO clue what was happening). I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Chad had handed his phone to a security guard, so I assumed we were just taking a picture up front in the pit area since we had lawn tickets. Then all of a sudden, as I was poised for the photo op, Chad spun around, got on one knee, and asked me to marry him! I was in total shock, and the whole proposal was caught on video by multiple onlookers who witnessed our special moment. Someone caught on in the moment and even provided a backdrop for us! Everyone cheered as I said YES! And Chad spun me around as we embraced. We were on cloud nine and enjoyed the rest of the most magical night of our lives together!

The Ring

I absolutely LOVE my ring! We originally looked at rings over two years ago, so I gave a few hint reminders about the style and look I was hoping for, but the final look was all Chad! He did so well! It’s a round-cut diamond with a halo and an antique-style band with diamonds. Absolutely beautiful!
