Tell us how you met.
We met our senior year of high school through his mom’s tutoring business! We both tutored kids of all ages out of his mom’s house for a year. We were coworkers/acquaintances, but that was all we were for a while. One of my best friends/bridesmaids had met Chandler briefly when I had to drop off something for tutoring once, and the second we got back in my car to leave she told me, “You’re going to marry Chandler, I just have a feeling.” When Covid happened, we had to stop working in person. A few weeks into lockdown, we matched on Tinder, but neither of us had the nerve to reach out. Then, we matched on Bumble a few days later and decided to go on a date. We have been inseparable ever since!

 Tell the story of your proposal.
Chandler told me two days before the proposal that we were going out to dinner at Antoni’s on Saturday night. He waited until the day of to tell any of my friends, so none of them had a clue until about 4 hours before. The same friend who said years ago that I was going to marry Chandler, texted me the morning of and said “Today is the day! You’re getting engaged!” She had no clue if it was going to happen yet but felt that it would. (Clearly, she’s psychic or something.) That afternoon, he said we had to go to his mom’s before dinner to drop off some work pants for her to fix. When we got to his mom’s house, he said she was across the street at a friend’s house so we needed to bring this pile of work pants he was holding to his mother’s neighbor’s house. I was so confused! He led me across the street away from his mom’s house in the direction of this massive oak tree in the neighborhood. I started asking so many questions like, “Where does she live?” “Why can’t we just drop them at your mom’s house and go to dinner?” “Do you even know which house we are walking to?” He answered all of my questions with a simple, “We actually aren’t going to someone’s house.” When I looked up, I saw the oak tree with lit torches under it and tea lights. He was using the excuse of fixing his work pants to hide the ring box! His stepsister was hiding in the bushes taking photos and our family members were across the street watching from his mom’s balcony. Afterwards, our friends came over to celebrate with us and then just the two of us went to Antoni’s for dinner. It was the perfect day!

Tell us about the ring!
We visited Dianna Rae together and tried on different styles in the playground. We loved this part! In high school, I always said I wanted a pear-cut ring. In college, I wanted oval. I really was still in love with both cuts when we tried on rings! I left it up to Chandler to decide which cut. I knew I loved Ronni’s simply modern collection, but at the time she didn’t have a pear cut in the collection. Chandler knew I loved the style of the collection and he decided to go with a pear cut! He and Ronni worked together to create my ring. We both are so happy with how easy the process was and how beautiful the ring is!
