Tell us how you met.
Me and Anna had first started talking to each other over social media and kind of known of each other through some common ground with people we knew from the UL BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministry). As you would imagine, we kind of found each other cute by stalking each other on social media. You know, the old fashioned way haha. We had decided to take a leap toward each other and start talking. Which eventually lead to a first date at Borden’s Ice Cream, and then which eventually lead to us, 4 years later deciding to make the decision of a lifetime!

Tell the story of your proposal.
I (Hans) made the grand decision to propose to Anna in Florence, Italy on June 1st of 2024. while she was studying abroad there for the summer. The exact spot where I got a one knee was on the beautiful main staircase in the magnificent Boboli Gardens that happened to be overlooking Pitti Palace. If you haven’t been there, then you should probably put it on your bucket list. Where I proposed had a generous amount of greenery and architecture mixed into a perfect picture.

Tell us about the ring!
Me and Anna both added our touch to it. Anna originally liked the emerald shaped diamond, but she happened to try an oval on and instantly fell in love. She had mentioned how she loved flower styled rings so I had Dianna Rae build the setting arms of the ring into small pedals so it looks like the diamond is blooming out of a flower. And a last touch she wasn’t expecting was the words “To God Be The Glory” engraved on the inside of the ring.
