Tell us how you met.
When I taught 3rd grade, my class would write letters each year to local veterans leading up to Veteran’s Day. In 2019, I posted on Facebook, asking for donations of stamps and envelopes. Brook’s father and brother are both veterans, so he reached out willing to donate the envelopes for our project. We met under the carport of my home when he came to deliver the envelopes on October 31. We continued to talk even after the project was over and had our first date on November 22, 2019.

Tell the story of your proposal.
Brook has always told me that he would never propose on a holiday. So, when Christmas Day 2024 came around, I really didn’t expect a thing. He walked in the house and asked me to help him load some wood in the back of his truck for a project.
When we reached the carport, he stopped and asked me if I remembered what happened here over five years ago as he pointed to a box of envelopes in the spot where we first met. I immediately started crying when he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was the easiest “yes” I have ever said, and I cannot wait to marry him!

Tell us about the ring!
On a day out shopping, we were passing by Dianna Rae’s and decided to stop. We loved everything about our experience there. The people were so incredibly friendly and the “playground” really helped us narrow down some of our favorite styles. However, it was all over when I laid eyes on “The Daisy” in the case. I fell in love immediately. It was so uniquely beautiful, and nothing that we had ever seen before. Over a year later and I still find myself staring at my ring in awe! I can’t believe it’s mine to wear forever.

Tell us about the wedding!
Our wedding will be April 9, 2026 in Alexandria, Louisiana. The most important thing to us was being surrounded by those we love and cherish the most. We cannot wait to celebrate the love between us in front of our dear friends and family.
