This stunning pendant contains a genuine black opal mined in Australia. The opal has a dark gray body color with excellent play of color, predomintaly blues and greens. It is a high dome cabochon measuring 10 x 8 mm oval with a flat back. The opal is semi-transparent so you can see the play of color from all angles.
Because of the beautiful blue color of the opal, I choose Apatite as my accent gemstone. The intense blue of the apatite is the perfect color, bringing out all of the blue tones of the opal. Apatite is often mined in Madagascar and rivals the blue color of the rare Paraiba Tourmaline.
