At Dianna Rae Jewelry, we enjoy sharing the love stories of our customers because your story is our story. Read Tiger and Doux’s story — from emojis to the moon.
Tiger first saw Doux on Instagram, and was instantly drawn in. A conversation that started with emojis evolved into a first date. Being long distance, the date could be anywhere – Doux chose the moon. From there, a love unraveled, and this couple began their love story.
Tiger and Doux are both Geminis and and Tiger wanted to go back to the site of their first date – the moon. With that in mind, Tiger pulled some strings, and managed to get special access to the science museum, and the planetarium exhibit where there is a Gemini spacecraft display and even some rocks from the moon. At this point, due to the COVID-19 closings, the museum was shut off to the public, but agreed to let Tiger, Doux, and a couple other people (the photographers in disguise) have access. Everything was set up, but as things don’t always go according to plan, and with the COVID situation worsening, the museum decided to shut down completely, and the original plan was unable to come to fruition.
Even with this set back, Tiger quickly arranged a new plan at a local nursery. Doux had been wanting to look at flowers, so it all worked out. The photographers were on stand by, incognito, and when the moment was perfect, everything came together – she said YES! The stars all aligned after all. The day was rounded out with a trip to the beach for sunsets and wine.
The ring is a round emerald, accompanied by two half moon diamonds and two round diamonds. Tiger and Doux share emerald as their birthstone – and the stone of Geminis. The half moon diamonds hold meaning as well – representing the Gemini twins, and also two halves coming together to make a whole as Tiger and Doux have done. The remaining two diamonds round out the design, and give the ring a total gemstone count of five – Doux’s birth number. The symbolism in this ring does not stop there though, as when seen as a whole, the five gemstones resemble the stages of the moon, and tie in to a tattoo that Doux has had on her hand for years. This ring is a statement of love, but more specifically, this couple’s love.
